Outside of work
When I clock out
When the workday ends, it's usually a ranked queue or the fish tank — sometimes both.
Games I keep coming back to
League of Legends and Albion Online when I want company; for quieter evenings, console story games like Sekiro. The thread tying them together is the challenge — without something to push against, a game tends to lose me pretty fast.
Where I slow down
I keep a small tank on my desk with a betta in it — watching him and tending the tank is one of the calmer parts of my day. The longer-term dream is a big planted tank built around discus — the disc-shaped cichlids, and easily one of the most beautiful freshwater fish, with vivid colors and intricate patterns. There's something about the slowness of the whole thing — pruning, watching parameters drift, letting it settle — that I find really soothing.
And almost everything else
Outside of those two, I have a pretty low bar for movies and food — most things on the screen or on the plate will win me over. Recommend something and I'll probably enjoy it.
